ABOUT BAPTISM AT CHRIST’S CHURCH

Baptism is a significant spiritual decision, one that will undoubtedly stand out as a defining moment in your spiritual life. We consider it a great blessing to join with you and to be a part of this wonderful celebration of your faith.

Baptisms are conducted frequently at Christ's Church. They can take place any day of the week and at any hour of the day in both private and public ceremonies.

Baptisms are especially encouraged during the weekend worship serves. Many find this to be a positive first step as they publicly profess their faith. It is also a blessing to the church body and serves as an example for others who need to follow in these same steps.

A baptism can be scheduled on the very day you contact us, but most tend to be planned with at least a few days notice. To schedule a baptism us the Baptism Request Form or contact Phillip Gore at 886-3979 or PhillipG@CContheWeb.com

Click here to open (PDF document). This is the script of what is to be said by the person performing your baptism. This is useful if your baptism is being performed by a non-Christ's Church ministry staff person.


WHAT TO BRING:

Please bring bathing suits or shorts and t-shirts to wear under our baptismal robes. Ladies will need a long dark t-shirt as brightly colored swim suits tend to show through the white robes. We provide towels, hair dryers and plastic bags for wet clothes so no need to worry about those items.

ARRIVAL:

Baptisms tend to be at the beginning of our Worship services. If your baptism is scheduled to happen during one of the weekend services please be at the baptistry prep area 20 minutes before the beginning of the service so a minister can pray with you and you can receive final instructions. If you do not know where the baptistry prep area is ask at the welcome center and someone will escort you.

FAMILY & FRIENDS:

If you would like to have a family member or friend with you in the baptistry prep area they are most welcome to join you. We only ask that you limit it to one person (young children may of course have both parents present). We also encourage you to have friends and family arrive early so that they can get good seats right in front of the baptistry.

CAMERAS & PHOTOS:

We encourage you to have someone in your party bring a camera and take pictures of this special event in your life. You may also video the baptism if you wish.

THE CHURCH SERVICE:

Depending on where your baptism falls during the service you may miss a large portion of the service. We encourage you to attend one of the other hours so that you do not miss the worship or preaching.
