Random Act of Traffic Kindness

20 06 2008

The road closure has made Greenland Road a virtual parking lot each morning. All week long we have been driving past frustrated, aggravated, unhappy and late travelers trying to make their way to work. Even the most patient of people has been tested! In light of what we have been learning throughout the Fruit of the Spirit series, we thought it would be a great idea to simply share a little joy, peace, kindness and goodness with our Greenland Road neighbors.

Here are a few pictures of your staff serving donuts, fruit and water to the motorists on Thursday morning, June 19.

It was great to see our neighbors laughing and smiling as we simply offered a word of encouragement and a free bite to eat while they sat patiently in traffic. Hopefully we made someone’s day a little better and a little brighter.

What an awesome idea? Take something negative and give it a possitive spin, compliments of Christ Church! What a great way to show the heart of our Church. Our folks looked great out there. Keep up the good work!

Another good neighborly act!
My question is why such a “jam” on Greenland if can’t go across RR to Philips/9A and no Westbound Traffic?

Our staff is simply the best! I know how much work you all do during the week and taking time to help a few have a little patience (another fruit!), deserves a great round of applause, a pat on the back and an “at-a-boy!” Thanks for representing Jesus to the community in this seemingly small act of kindness.

THANK YOU so much for the random act of kindness! As someone who has sat in traffic all week long, I truly “had a great day” beacuse it started out with a banana and doughnut and a kind gesture from Christ Church. I am not a member, but I have a friend who is. I called her to tell her she sould be proud of her church–what a brillant idea.

Thank you again.

My neighbor was all smiles yesterday and told me Christ Church was out on the road and handing out donuts. It was a great idea! Thank you for making a difference in our community.
